THANKSGIVING REMEMBRANCE
Tell me what you remember of days long gone by and of terrible prices paid.
To allow us the pleasures and freedoms we have, just what were the offerings made?
Were you there when they hanged all the witches of old, so that witches today could thrive?
Were you there when they fought for our right to exist and do more than merely survive?
Remember the victims of so long ago and the martyrs in months just gone by
Who believed in the fact that we all should be free and for that they were willing to die.
Those long bygone deeds grant you leave to believe that the comfort you now have will last.
So, don't take for granted the courage they showed, as you carry within you the past.
On the day of Thanksgiving with loved ones near, look around you and hold them all dear.
Then include all the people who fought for this day with their words and actions sans fear.
When you sit down to your feast be it plant or beast and you then bow your head in praise,
Please think hard on the folks who ahead of us all roughed the wild pioneering days.
Remember the people who lived off the land and thanked those who had set Them all free.
And then lift you glass high, with a joyous heart when you finally ~ 'so mote it be.'
